The Swiss Confederation, or Switzerland, is a country surrounded by France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy, with four official languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh. It consistently ranks among the best countries in the world according to US News & World Report and among the most competitive countries in the world according to the World Economic Forum. Times Higher Education ranks many universities in Switzerland among the best in the world. With its beautiful nature situated near and within the Alps, Switzerland can offer a perfect work-life balance. |   About Zurich

Grüezi! Zurich is Switzerland's largest city, situated in the German speaking Canton of Zurich. Founded by the Romans as Turicum in 15 BC as part of the Gallia Belgica, and currently home to many financial and banking institutions, Zurich offers a vibrant city life. Ranked by Mercer among the top 10 cities for Quality of Living, it is also home to two of the largest universities in Switzerland, i.e. the University of Zurich (UZH) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). In order to get you started in Zurich as a student at UZH or ETH, the following links were found useful by fellow members during their time of study. Both Universities offer their students a variety of activities and facilities. The mensa's at ETH and UZH provide meals for lunch and dinner at student prices, while ASVZ offers free sporting facilities all over the city.
